Action1

Overview

Configuring a cloud source in Scope is a two-step process.

  • Generating Action1 client credentials in the Action1 console. Please refer to Section 1 – Action1 Setup

  • Setting up the Action1 cloud source in the Scope application. Please refer to Section 2 - Scope Setup

Action1 Setup

To get started, you’ll need to generate the following client credentials in the Action1 console –

  1. Client ID
  2. Client Secret

Step 1: Create a New Role

  • Log into the Action1 console.

  • Navigate to Configuration -> Roles -> Click on the +New Role button.

  • In the Create New Role screen, provide a Role name and a brief Description.

  • Click on the Add Permissions button to provide the required permissions.

  • Select the View Audit Trail permission.

  • In the View Audit Trail permission page, select the required scope under the Include Scopes section and click on Add.

  • Click on the Create Role button to create the new role.

Step 2: Generate Client Credentials

  • Navigate to Configuration -> Users & API Credentials -> Click on the +New API Credentials button.

  • In the Create New Credentials screen:

    • Provide the Name.
    • Select the newly created role in the Role field.
    • Click on the Proceed button.

  • Copy the generated Client Credentials (Client ID & Client Secret).

    Note: Copy the generated Client Secret to a secure location, as this exact Client Secret cannot be retrieved after leaving this screen.

The generated client credentials (Client ID & Client Secret) are to be configured in Scope Setup: Step 1 for initiating the Action1 log ingestion.

Scope Setup

Step 1: Action1 Cloud Source Registration in the Scope Application

Once the credentials are generated, they must be configured in the Scope application to establish the connection and enable data ingestion from the Action1 environment.

In the Scope application, to register an Action1 cloud source, navigate to the cloud source registration page

  • Log into the Scope application

  • Select the required organization from the Organization dropdown

  • Navigate to the side menu -> Administration

  • Navigate to the Cloud sources tab

  • Click on the +Add Source button

  • In the Add Source pop-up, provide the parameters below.

    • Source: Select the Action1 source from the Source dropdown.

    • Site: The user defined name for the Action1 cloud source.

    • Base URL: Select the required Base URL from the dropdown.

    • Client ID: The Client ID generated in Step 2.

    • Client Secret: The Client Secret generated in Step 2.

    • Polling Interval: The polling interval for making periodic API calls to the Action1 cloud source. The user can select the time interval from the dropdown.

    • Contact Email: The email address of the person who registers the Action1 cloud source in Scope.

Once the required connection parameters are entered, the Action1 service registration is complete in Scope and is ready for ingestion of Action1 logs.
