Pondurance sFTP service requires a client to connect, if you are using a linux machine the sFTP utility should be natively installed. The scope of this document covers using winSCP on a Windows host for the purpose of dropping files to the Pondurance sFTP server.
This guide assumes you have already downloaded the sFTP credentials zip file provided by Pondurance staff.
Navigate to the winSCP website: https://winscp.net/eng/download.php.
Click the green DOWNLOAD NOW button.
Then click DOWNLOAD WINSCP (note the version may be newer than the screenshot).
Once downloaded, navigate to your OS ‘downloads’ folder and double click the downloaded winSCP exe file to install.
When windows prompts for ‘install mode’ select Install for me only.
Follow the installation prompts and accept all of the default options.
Then winSCP should launch automatically.
Enter the connection details listed in the README.txt file from the sFTP credentials zip file that was provided by Pondurance.
Once you’ve entered the Host name and User name, click advanced located under password.
Navigate to the Authentication submenu under SSH on the advanced site settings pane.
Click the three dots under Private Key File.
Navigate to the extracted zip file that was provided to you by Pondurance.
Select your id_rsa.ppk file for authentication and click OK.
Now you may click Login to connect to the sFTP server and begin transferring files.
You may encounter an error after successfully uploading files, if you get an error stating the upload was successful but the ‘SETSTAT’ command is unsupported, it is OK to click ‘SKIP ALL’.
